The whole MEPSub platform — scheduling, service, projects, estimating, invoicing, phone — running on a small server we ship to you. Your data never leaves your building; updates and support still come from us.
Some shops cannot — or will not — keep customer, pricing and payroll data on someone else’s servers. The Appliance is MEPSub as a thing you own.
Database, files, photos, call recordings — all on the box, on encrypted mirrored disks. Nothing is synced to us. We see health metrics (disk, backups, versions) only while you allow remote support, never your records.
The box checks our release feed once a day and installs signed updates at night, or you press “Update now”. A failed update rolls back by itself. You decide when.
A switch on the box decides whether D&S can reach it. When you ask for help, you approve a time-limited support session; every action is logged under the technician’s name and a banner shows while it runs.
Plug in a USB disk or point it at your NAS: every night the box copies a verified snapshot, every file and its own config there, and checks weekly that the copy actually restores. Off-site copy at D&S is an optional add-on — encrypted on the box, unreadable to us.
The phone app, the desktop app, the customer portal and the integrations work against your domain. Everything in MEPSub is on the box; add-ons like MEPSub Phone or the full Price Book are switched on in the license.
Stop paying after the first year and the box keeps running on its last version. Pay again later and updates resume. No lock-in, no data hostage: your database is a file on your disk.
| Appliance (we ship the box) | Your own server | Private Instance (hosted by us) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hardware | Mini-PC we spec, build and warranty; one spare in our office | Any x86 machine with 2 disks — we give you a USB installer that sets up RAID, encryption and MEPSub | Our data center, dedicated instance |
| Where the data is | Your office | Your office | Our data center, separated from everyone else |
| Who updates | The box itself, from our feed | The box itself, from our feed | We do, after every release |
| Price | $4,800 once, then $169/mo after year one | Ask — installation + the same $169/mo | Ask — monthly, hardware included |
We prepare the box with your name on it before it ships. On site: power, network, a domain name, done. We migrate your data from whatever you use today (spreadsheets, your current software) as part of the price.
Add-ons on the license, priced on request: MEPSub Phone (voice / SMS, or your own Telnyx account), full Price Book, video meetings, off-site encrypted backup at D&S, warm standby, second company on the same box, white-label phone app, domain and e-mail set up by us.
Two mirrored disks survive one disk failure; a UPS survives a power cut. If the whole machine goes, a replacement box restores from your USB / NAS backup in the first-run wizard — database, files and settings. With the off-site add-on we hold an encrypted copy too.
No. The box reports health (disk, backups, versions, counts) only while remote support is on, and a support technician gets into the application only after you approve a session on the box. Off-site backups are encrypted with a key that never leaves your server.
Yes. They point at your domain (scan a QR code on the License page). Push notifications for the phone app travel through our relay while support is active.
Power, a wired network connection, and a domain name (we can register one for you). A static IP is nice but not required — a relay domain is available for shops without one.
The box keeps working on the version it has, with your data. Updates, remote support and relay-backed features pause. Start paying again and a new license file brings updates back.
Yes. It is the same software and the same database format; a backup from the box restores into a hosted instance and back.
Tell us who you are and what you need. We confirm by phone or e-mail within one business day, agree on the install date and send the invoice — nothing is charged by this form.
Same platform the cloud customers run — in your office, under your control, kept current by us.
