Step by step

Sales → Submittals → New submittal opens the wizard with three modes across the top.
AI Create: describe the package (or pick a MEP template) and AI drafts the title, spec section, and item list — then you review.
Chat Builder: talk to the assistant to add/remove items live; it proposes real manufacturers and models. Use “Use this draft → Review” when happy.
Manual: 5 steps — Details → Materials (pick from the built-in catalog or add custom) → Review → Confirm → AI Search.
AI Search looks up and attaches the cut sheet/datasheet for each item; cached items attach instantly (⚡).
To work from the project specification instead, use Submittals → Build — see “Build submittals from the spec book”.
Submittals → Register lists every section of the job with its current status, so you and the GC are reading the same log.

Tip: Nothing is saved until you Confirm — experiment freely in AI Create and Chat Builder modes.

Note: Set the submittal type (Product Data, Shop Drawing, Sample…) so it’s labeled correctly for the GC.
